What you get, what it costs, and how to pause, stop or leave.Who this is with
The Arabic Ladder is run by Ahmet Can, the school’s owner and the data controller. When you subscribe you are agreeing with him, not with a company, and he is the person who answers when you write. He is at hello@arabicladder.com.
What your plan buys
£80 a month, or six months for the price of fiveEvery week
Your group’s class at its fixed time, in our own class room, until your group finishes the books with the Book 3 review; and the weekly reading circle.
Every month
One free one-on-one credit for each month you’re subscribed, on either plan.
When your group finishes
When your group finishes, your plan stops by itself; you keep your account and recordings, can buy one-on-one credits, and the reading circle stays open to you.
Always there
Your recordings, recaps and transcripts, every lesson’s handouts and practice, homework with your teacher’s feedback, your group chat, and your teacher one message away.
Not included
The books are not part of it. Durūs al-Lughah al-ʿArabiyyah, Books 1–3, belong to their author; we tell you where to get your own copy, and no part of your fee pays for them.
One-on-ones
Bought with creditsExtra credits are £20 each, or five for £80. Credits never expire. Someone waiting for a group can buy credits without a monthly plan.
Paying
By card only, through StripeCard details go to Stripe and never to us. Billing runs from the day you started: subscribe on the 14th and every later payment falls on the 14th. After a pause, payments fall on the day you come back, or the day you resume early. The six-month plan is paid at its start: £400 for six months. There are no joining fees, and the free level check costs nothing.
Pausing, stopping and closing
All from your AccountPause
For one to three months. Nothing is charged and no free credit comes; your place in the group is kept and past classes stay open.
Stop paying
Takes effect at the end of the month you’ve paid for. Your account stays, and everything from the classes you attended stays until it closes.
Close your account
There is no refund: access runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for, and unused credits are lost. The page says so before you confirm, and Keep my account undoes it until that day.
Changing your mind
If you change your mind within 14 days of your first payment, we refund it, minus any classes you’ve already had.
When a class doesn’t happen
If we move or cancel it
If Zubair has to move or cancel a class, he tells the group and puts it right: a new time, or the hour given back as a free one-on-one credit.
If you can’t come
Press Can’t make it so your teacher knows. The class still runs for your group and isn’t refunded or credited; the recording, recap and handout are there to catch up. Missing a class never takes you out of your group.
Recordings
Only your group’s weekly class is recorded; the reading circle never is, and a one-on-one only if you said yes. What is kept, where it lives and how to have it deleted is all in the privacy notice, which is part of these terms.
The material and your group
Everything Zubair writes or hands out — plans, handouts, word lists, and the recordings of your classes — is for your own study. Please do not pass it on, publish it, post it, sell it or feed it to anything that republishes it. Ask him first and the answer is usually yes. Sharing an account, or sitting a class with someone who has not enrolled, is the one thing that ends an arrangement early.
Group chat
Be kind: your teacher looks after the group chat and can remove a message.
Changes, and the law
Zubair will email you before anything here changes in a way that affects what you pay or what you get, and the change applies from your next payment onwards — never backwards. If you do not like it, you can close your account; you keep what you have already paid for.
