Short answers about being a student here. Times show in the time zone you pick in Account › Your calendar.Signing in
Your password, or a link we email youHow do I sign in?
With your email and password, or with a link we email you. Either works, every time.
I’ve forgotten my password
Press Forgot password? on the sign-in page. We email you a link to choose a new one. It works once, for one hour.
The email link didn’t work
Open it in the same browser you asked from. If it’s been used, or is more than an hour old (seven days for the one in your invite), ask for a new one. No email? Look in spam: it comes from noreply@arabicladder.com.
Joining
Everyone starts with a free level checkHow do I join?
Book a free level check on our website: you pick a time with Zubair straight away (change or cancel it up to 12 hours before), a short video call to find where you start. Then we place you in a group and email you your way in and a payment link.
No group fits my evenings
You still get an account and wait on a list, and you can book one-on-ones meanwhile. When enough people fit, a new group starts.
Classes
In our own class room, in your browserWhere do I join my class?
On your Home: it shows Join when it’s time. Nothing to install, and no other links.
I can’t make a class
Press Can’t make it on your Home, so your teacher knows. Afterwards the recording, recap, handout and anything drawn on the whiteboard wait on the class page; press I’ve caught up when you’re done. Missing a class never takes you out of your group.
Can I ask for a point again?
In the weekly class, press Explain again? beside the point your teacher is on. Only your teacher sees it. Afterwards your class page can take you to that moment in the recording: Listen from there.
What is the reading circle?
A weekly class where students read a short passage together. It’s part of your plan, and it’s never recorded. It shows on your Home, with its own Join.
Homework and practice
Between classesHow do I hand in homework?
From the Homework tab: a photo, a voice recording, or typing. Your teacher replies with spoken or written feedback.
How do I find a lesson?
Use Search lessons on the Lessons tab: a word, a title or a lesson number. You can read your group’s lessons so far and the next one.
What is Practice?
Questions on the lessons your group has covered so far. Use it when you like: there are no points or streaks.
Recordings
Sound only, never anyone’s cameraOnly your group’s weekly class is recorded, as sound only, and a computer writes the transcript and recap from the recording. The reading circle is never recorded, and a one-on-one only if you said yes. You can say no in your Account and still join every class: your microphone is off in the weekly class, and in the reading circle and your one-on-ones you speak as usual. The privacy notice has the detail.
Money
By card only£80 a month buys your group’s weekly class until it finishes the books, the weekly reading circle, and one free one-on-one credit a month; you can pause or stop from Change or end your plan in your Account. The Terms have the detail.
